  1. Vegas team averaging 7.2 runs per game. 50 runs in past 4 games. Grandy is 15 for 120 since early in spring training. A picture in contrasts. Severe contrasts. I'd rather see Dekker out there right now instead of break-the-bank Grandy, with Dekker making peanuts and perhaps doing well in a lefty/righty platoon.

Great for Bowman and Degrom, two rising stars.

  2. With Grandy at $60+ million, you can bet your ass he is going to be playing every day. He has to come out of it and start hitting. I stll believe . . but I also thought Bay would eventually come around too. I am praying that their situations are not analogous.

The entire farm system has been playing faantastic baseball, a precursor of things to come at Citifield for the years to come.

  3. Herb -

The sad part about minor league baseball teams... they all don't elevate to the next level at the same time against the rest of the teams in the league that would also elevate all their players at the same time.

    Then, you would win again.

Success at the minor league level gets you 3-4 players a year to join 21-22 other players that were already playing major league baseball... and... you have to play against the creme of the other teams.

No minor league success guarantees anything, but, what we have seen for the last three years is going to make it a lot easier.

  4. I hope management can see their way to Grandy playing "every day" to total 140 starts max if he does not start to hit. I think he could use a little leg pull like Lagares...miss a week, rehab against weaker pitching for a week and come back possibly with a fresh start.

Grandy's established a new Mendoza line standard - for him it is .130 - and he's back under it. He is 11 for 85 after finishing spring 5 for 44. This stretch of non-hitting is unnerving and a real drag on what is turning out to be a surprisingly good team.
