Maybe we could send him there with a tainted baseball and have him hand it from his glove hand to Kim Jong-Un to throw out the first pitch. They could make a movie about that...
People laughed at Sandy for selling him for cash considerations, but hey, who wouldn't take $250k for a player you had to get rid of anyway. Not quite the Byrd deal, but msube one extra international signing. Anon Joe F
I'm a bit of a numbers guy and his are fairly ugly. His 1.406 WHIP is what really stands out (in a bad way) while his career 4.01 minor league ERA doesn't scream future big league player. I watched him a few times last year here in El Paso and was not impressed with what I saw. Now if you asked me about the kind of arm Vic Black had here and how me made batters look silly...
My brother has a way of cutting to the point. I brought up his name last year after a game he pitched. "He sux." Verdict was in. He may well be right. We all hope a guy like him could be the next Familia...few are.
Do the Yankees now want there $ money back from the Mets for Gonzalez German ?
ReplyDeleteCan we sell the Erik Goeddel? Cesar Puello? Ruben Tejada? Curtis Granderson?
ReplyDeleteYou need to prioritize, Reese!
ReplyDelete1) RUBEN TEJADA
2-4) TAKE YOUR PICK
Gonzalez Germen is being sought after by 28 other teams. Problem is, they are all in Korea. North Korea.

ReplyDeleteThe name of the movie can be "The Interview: Hey, I'm Howie Rose"

What Joe F said!
ReplyDeleteDon't knock Goeddel too much Reese.
He always posted a high enough K/9 (well above 8.0/9 for his minor league career) to show that he has a somewhat live arm - he just can't control it.
He at least has the plus fastball to maybe be a mid-inning reliever - he just needs to learn to breath through his eye lids.

ReplyDeleteGermen has been plagued by an inability (fear of?) throwing STRIKE ONE. He has a generally Live arm.... hense the "interest" by other teams.
