Cardinals Silence B-Mets Offense, 7-0
PORT ST. LUCIE, FL – The Binghamton Mets continued their spring schedule with a 7-0 loss to the Springfield Cardinalson Friday afternoon at the New York Mets Spring Training complex.
B-Mets starter Gabriel Ynoa was tagged for five runs over three innings of work. The righty made 11 starts with Binghamton last year and earned the win in Game 5 over the Portland Sea Dogs to clinch the Eastern Division Championship Series.
Chase Huchingson threw a pair of scoreless innings and Paul Sewald allowed one run in two frames on the hill. Both were members of the B-Mets championship team.
Offensively, Binghamton was limited to three hits. Jared King, a fifth-round selection by the Mets in 2013 out of Kansas State University, collected two hits.
Following a camp day on Saturday, the B-Mets will hit the road to Jupiter, Florida on Sunday afternoon to take on the Jacksonville Suns.
Gabe Ynoa has a bad start and he is still a top prospect. Leathersich has a bad outing followed by four walk-less ones and he is still Wild Man Jack. Let's see if he is fixing that as we speak.
