162 Game Suspension - P - Jenrry Mejia

Mets reliever Jenrry Mejia has been suspended 162 games for testing positive a second time for a performance-enhancing substance, Major League Baseball announced Tuesday. Mejia's suspension is effective immediately.

Mejia was in the clubhouse before game, joking around with Familia and Colon.

Mack - This should do it...

  2. Wow
    I just don't get it.
And with that report that he was laughing and joking around with Familia and Colon?
Didn't they know about the suspension and test result at that time??
    Unbelievable.

    1. Sends the right message.

Even what he took (winstrol and equipoise) were stupid. If you're going to break the rules, there are steroids that are in and out of your system quickly. Plus, having just come back from suspension he had to know they'd be watching him closely. Million dollar arm, ten cent head.

  6. You know, I've been thinking that A-Rod is definitely on something. Justin Turner. Etc. These guys are all about getting the edge, GNC, taking cocktails of semi-legal substances. I don't think it's ever going to completely go away.

    1. The true chemists are always a step ahead of testing with designer steroids as well. If these guys can pay top dollar they'll avoid getting caught. It's the guys who buy generics from local dealers, clinics, and Mexico who get caught.

  8. Come on guys - don't you remember Steve Howe? Dudes with talent always get more chances.

He is losing what $500k? Maybe he will learn his lesson - besides isn't the next failed test a complete ban?

I don't get it - I think he is worried about being able to recover to pitch multiple days in a row - he had a mental block when he first had to do it - I think that's why he turned to roid's - I think at this point it is as much an addiction as anything else

  9. How is this possible? I'm trying to think of the equivalent stupidity in my own job and I cant come up with anything. He is literally costing himself several million dollars doing something he was definitely going to be caught with. Its so inconceivable it makes me wonder if someone slipped him shit cause i cant wrap my head around it.
