LAST TIME OUT: Binghamton managed only one hit, Beck Wheeler surrendered a walk-off single to Nate Freiman and the Portland Sea Dogs beat the B-Mets 1-0 Friday night at Hadlock Field. Stefan Sabol was 1-for-2 with the only Binghamton hit in the seven-inning game. The second game of the scheduled doubleheader was rained out and rescheduled for Saturday.

BINGHAMTON STARTERS: RHP Rainy Lara will start the first game of the doubleheader. He has missed the last six games on the disabled list and last pitched on 5/5 at Hadlock Field. Lara allowed two runs over six innings and took the loss in a 2-1 Portland win. RHP Tyler Pill will get the ball for the second game. Pill is 2-0 with a 1.93 ERA in two 2016 starts against the Sea Dogs. He last pitched on Monday in Reading and struck out a career-high 12 batters but allowed five runs over 7.1 innings in a 5-3 Binghamton loss.

PORTLAND STARTERS: RHP Teddy Stankiewicz takes the ball for Portland in game one, he will make his third start against the B-Mets this season. Stankiewicz is 0-1 with an 8.38 ERA in his two prior appearances. He last saw Binghamton on 5/3 in Portland and allowed eight runs on nine hits over 3.2 innings.  RHP Mitch Atkins will start the second game. The usual reliever has made one start, his last appearance in game two of a doubleheader Saturday in Reading. He was touched for four runs on six hits in 3.2 innings

LET’S PLAY TWO: Today’s doubleheader is the result of a postponement of game two of Friday’s scheduled doubleheader. That was scheduled thanks to a rain-out on 5/2, the first scheduled game of the B-Mets previous visit to Hadlock Field. This will be Binghamton’s first doubleheader of the season. In 2015 they played four twin bills and were swept once and split three times.

HITTING THE SKIDS: The B-Mets have now lost seven straight, the longest losing streak of the season. Binghamton has not lost eight consecutive games since 2011 when it dropped eight straight to Trenton, New Hampshire, Harrisburg and New Britain 5/15-5/25.

ONE IS THE LONLIEST NUMBER: Stefan Sabol’s single in the third was Binghamton’s only hit Friday night. It was the fewest hits in a game this season and the first time Binghamton had been one-hit since 8/22/15 against New Hampshire.

RELIEVERS MISFIRING: Beck Wheeler allowed the game’s only run out of the bullpen in Friday’s loss to the Sea Dogs. Since having a nine-game, 24.1- inning scoreless streak snapped, B-Mets relievers have compiled a 6.89 ERA (12 ER, 15.2 IP) over their last six games.

SNAPPED: Matt Oberste was robbed of an extra-base hit by center fielder Henry Ramos on Friday and watched his seven-hitting streak get snapped.
