Mack – Draft 5-Pack – Tristan Beck, Quinn Brody, MacKenzie Gore, Brendan McKay, Kyle Wright

Kendall Rogers‏ @KendallRogersD1 – Stanford RHP Tristan Beck has started throwing again and with pitching doing well, will throw first pen in 2 wks.

When The Giants Come To Town - Tristan Beck is a Draft Eligible Sophomore from Stanford.  As a HS senior at Corona, HS(CA), he notified MLB teams he intended to honor his commitment to Stanford and was drafted in Round 34 by the Milwaukee Brewers who failed to sign him.  Beck is a tall drink of water who is listed at 6'4", 160 lbs.  Yes, you read that right.  His facial features remind me of Kelby Tomlinson, specs and all.  Despite his thin build, he is no weakling on the mound. His frame looks surprisingly well proportioned and like he could easily hold another 30-40 lbs.  As you might imagine, he has a long whippy arm and a drop and drive approach that delivers a FB that runs 90-96 MPH.  He also features a conventional curveball, a spike curve that looks like a slider and a decent changeup.

Kendall Rogers‏ - @KendallRogersD1 – Stanford OF Quinn Brodey looking the part so far. After an RBI single in 1st, smacks a two RBI double in 2nd on a 76 mph CB.

Perfect Game - Outstanding 2-way potential. Big power potential and 90 mph FB

Nathan Rode‏ @NathanRode  - Whiteville HS (NC) LHP Mackenzie Gore's 1st inning from Tuesday night. 6-3, K (92 up), K (81 CT/SL away).

Fangraphs  - Gore stands out because of his glorious leg kick, but the stuff is interesting as well. He was a deceptive 88-92 in San Diego, flashed a plus changeup and 45 curveball. He has an extreme drop-and-drive delivery — and I’m skeptical about his ability to harness it and have even average control down the road — but it’s unique and requires more evaluation rather than knee-jerk xenophobia.

Aaron Fitt‏ -  @aaronfitt -  So, um, I guess Brendan McKay’s “minor” abdominal injury sure was minor. Dude struck out 15 today over 7 scoreless vs. Pitt; just 2 H, 1 BB

Red Reporter  - McKay cracks the list as a formidable two way player. In 2015 he was dubbed Baseball America's "Freshman of the Year." At the plate McKay is hitting .333/.414/.513 this season. However, he's too talented of a left handed pitcher, according to Crawford, for teams to pass up on that potential. This season he went 12-4 with a 2.30 ERA in 17 starts. McKay was originally drafted by the Padres in the 34th round of the 2014 MLB Draft.

Burke Granger‏ - @burkegranger - Kyle Wright | RHP | Vanderbilt.  4IP, 10H, 6R, 5ER, 1BB, 7K.  Wright still winless on season. Topped 100 pitches in just 4 innings

Anchor Of Gold  - If Jeren Kendall and Kyle Wright live up to their lofty expectations, the duo could wind up as the top two selections in the 2017 MLB Draft. The Commodore juniors were named two of the NCAA’s hottest prospects in advance of next year’s amateur draft by MLB.com. The website pegged Kendall, a do-everything right fielder, as its No. 2 overall prospect and top collegiate player. Wright, a hard-throwing right-handed pitcher, came in at No. 5.
