ROSTER MOVES - Mets
From the Mets: - The New York Mets announced today that they have: Activated RHP Jeurys Familia from the Restricted List Recalled catcher Kevin Plawecki from Las Vegas (AAA) of the Pacific Coast League Optioned RHP Rafael Montero and LHP Sean Gilmartin to Las Vegas. The Mets also transferred infielder David Wright to the 60-Day Disabled List.
First, Rafael Montero is out of options (or so it was reported). Doesn't that mean he's subject to waivers?
Second, promoting Plawecki makes sense since he's on the 40-man roster. However, with d'Arnaud, Duda and Flores all nursing non-DL injuries, wouldn't a move to bring up T.J. Rivera have also made sense?
Third, yesterday they announced Wright was throwing across the diamond then today they announce he's on the 60-day DL. Who will get his spot on the 40-man roster?
That is an upgrade

60 days retroactive to opening day? They'd be assuming he would miss at least 6 more weeks. Good assumption
