Tom Brennan - METS' PITCHER 2017 PROJECTIONS
Some folks don't like making projections. But, c'mon folks, baseball is only a game, so why not speculate and guess? Opening day is, after all, TOMORROW!
I'm supremely confident that my projections are spot-on. Even if I end up not even close at season's end! So, here goes:
SYNDERGAARD: 20-6, 2.20 ERA, 240 Ks, 210 innings. Cy Young.
DEGROM: 20-7, 2.16 ERA, 210 K, 210 IP. CY Young runner up. The two co-aces.
HARVEY: 14-9, 2.85 ERA, 185 Ks, 200 IP. Lots more Dark Knight than Gladys Knight.
GSELLMAN: 14-7, 3.20 ERA, 170 Ks, 200 IP. ROY.
WHEELER: 8-5, 3.40 ERA, 120 K, 125 IP. Comeback player of the year.
MATZ: 9-6, 3.05 ERA, 160 Ks, 170 IP.
LUGO: 6-5, 3.75, ERA 90 K, 110 IP
MONTERO: 4-4, 3.80 ERA, 90 K, 90 IP
FAMILIA: 40 SV, 2.03 ERA, 90 K, 76 IP, 3-5.
REED: 10 SV, 2.73 ERA, 80 K, 80 IP, 1-2.
ALL OTHERS: BLEVIN, SMOKER, ROBLES, ETC.: 3.50 ERA 2-5, 3.80 ERA.
FINAL TOTAL: 101-61. Oh yeah. Reyes said "better than 2006." I agree.
So, my guess is as good as yours (not really, mine is better, but I need to be humble, dudes)! What are your projections?
If your a Profit then we'll win 100 games
ReplyDeleteEddie, I base a lot of that on expecting guys to hit. I am very disappointed they can't push a run home thru 6 to give Thor a chance to win. Too many of those, good luck on 20 wins for him.
