Ex-Met OF Curtis Granderson has announced that he does intend to play in 2018.
Ex-New York Mets pitching coach, Dan Warthen, has been named Assistant Pitching Coach with the Texas Rangers.
The Rays have outrighted ex-Mets OF Cesar Puello (26/yrs old: .327 in AAA in 2017).
The Cubs claimed ex-Mets pitcher, Cory Mazzoni, from San Diego.
The Cubs outright OF Leonys Martin.
So far, the QO list is:
- Jake Arrieta, SP, Cubs (source)
- Lorenzo Cain, OF, Royals (post)
- Alex Cobb, SP, Rays (post)
- Wade Davis, RP, Cubs (source)
- Greg Holland, RP, Rockies (source)
- Eric Hosmer, 1B, Royals (post)
- Lance Lynn, SP, Cardinals (post)
- Mike Moustakas, 3B, Royals (post)
- Carlos Santana, 1B, Indians (post)
Would we be better in 2018 with a Cesar Puello at $500K or a faded Granderson at $8-$10 million?
ReplyDeleteAns. Neither
But Puello can play in Vegas - as long as he does not block - Tim Tebow!
Groan
Deletedoes that mean to day is the last day team can offer the QO or that the player must accept the QO?
ReplyDeleteCurtis was 19 for 127 (.149) as a Dodger...and will be 6 months older next opening day. My guess is the age-related slide is steep and irreversible. Unless, of course, he returns to the Yanks and hits 40 again.
ReplyDeleteEddie- I think they have the 16th to accept/reject QO's.
ReplyDeleteActually it's November 13th when FAs offered QOs must accept or refuse.
ReplyDeleteMets should pick up Puello and stash in at AAA or as the 5th OF.
ReplyDeleteViper, it couldn't hurt - Puello might still be a late bloomer
ReplyDeleteEither that or he's discovered a better way to mask his PEDs than Jenrry Mejia has.
ReplyDeleteI hope all three Royals accept. LOL, now what Dayton Moore?
