Ex-Met: RP Josh Smoker



The Mets have DFA'd LHRP Josh Smoker to make for a 6th active infielder.

    Josh is not an ex-Met yet, but I suspect he will be claimed.

    UGH! it's not like we have a ton of lefties to start with.......I hope there is a plan here. Side note, what does Matt Reynolds have as leverage against the front office? Mostly kidding, but I would have kept Smoker over Reynolds (no offense to either).

    Today's shit deal.

    We now have 6 active healthy 3B/SS/2B players and one lefty in the pen.

    Another reason the Reyes decision is easily questioned.

    Is there a real plan here?
    Or is everything done by the seat-of-the-pants?

    I agree -- either Matt Reynolds or even Gavin Cecchini would have been smarter to risk.

    I had a girlfriend, who would say the mets are a fantastic organization, just maybe their bailiwick is trucking or cricket. Why be so hung up on baseball?

    Hey maybe the "Plan" is if the pitching doesn't return to form and kick ass or they blow it all up next off season....hey don't laugh it could be the plan remember the resident genius "Jeffy" is calling the shots....how wonderful.
