Word filtered out that the Mets have sent P.J. Conlon back to Las Vegas as he handled Jacob deGrom's scheduled start and have replaced him on the roster with Corey Oswalt. Although Oswalt recently got shelled by the Salt Lake Bees, he did perform well in mop-up duty in relief of Steve Matz earlier this season. The minor league pitcher of the year for 2017 will likely work out of the bullpen until such time as Jacob deGrom is ready to return. Then the Mets will have to decide if he or the human gopher ball pitching machine, Hansel Robles, gets to polish up his Player's Card for the machines in Vegas.
