The Scoop: After finishing his high Class A career with a
10-strikeout dazzler, the Mets saw fit to move Dunn to Double-A, where a circus
was waiting. He made his Binghamton debut in Trenton, where he joined Tim Tebow
and a rehabbing Yoenis Cespedes. Dunn had no problem shutting out the raucous
crowds—not to mention the opposition—and opened his turn at the new level with
nine strikeouts, one shy of the season high he’d set in his previous start.

After
throwing his curveball at 16.6% and 17.4% rates in each of the previous two
years, Seth Lugo threw his curveball 32% of the time on Sunday night, nearly in
line with his 31.2% rate on the season. It worked. While it’s not Hill-level
usage, a 100% increase in pitch usage is notable. In his second start of the
year against the vaunted Yankee lineup, Lugo allowed just two hits over six
shutout innings striking out eight and allowing no walks.

Any post with Vlad Guerrero, Jr makes me smile - that he will play in the AL.
ReplyDeleteLugo has been impressive, even if he wasn't great last night.
Our prospect list is bleak, clearly.
Yankee starter in Cyclone went 6 no-hit innings before being relieved in his debut against Brooklyn. I wonder if that is an early sign of the Cyclones not hitting well again this year?
Even I we don’t trade he big 2 I still feel our future is in having a top 3 pick this season
