Nido 0-3 with 2 Ks? I am not thrilled with the Mets' # 2 catcher spot.
ReplyDeleteThe back up guys continue to mostly not hit.
One day closer to Championship Mets baseball.
Tom - Nido did not look good at the plate last night. I know it iscearly. Woukd haveclijed to see him play more in winter ball to increase his reps. If he does not maje thevteam hecwill havevto go on waivers.
ReplyDeleteAlso meant to mentiin that Chris Mazza gave up 3 runsvforcRed Sox last night in a gamevthat Jaun Centeno also caught.
ReplyDeleteI'm not too concerned with the Marlins being 6-0 so far this spring, and the Mets with only one win. Mostly minors guys giving up runs late in games.
ReplyDeleteI'm more concerned with some of our regulars not hitting, even against guys like Stephen Dugger.
I agree Bob. Having to take early spring BP against the likes of deGrom and Thor can't help.
ReplyDeleteFor the record...
ReplyDeleteCleto did make it to the majors, pitching for St. Louis and the White Sox.
He went on to the Mexican League.
Players tend to work on things earlier in spring training. Let’s not forget Nido hires a swing coach and worked with him all winter, so he had alot of baseball exposure this winter and may still be adjusting.
ReplyDeleteIf the hitters can come one favor: please hit the ball more often. I hate strikeouts. Work on that.
Mack - that was a great piece. And it happened 8 years ago on this date in Mack's Mets history.
