BREAKING NEWS - STATEMENT BY MINOR LEAGUE BASEBALL

Minor League Baseball Statement

St. Petersburg, FL, April 21, 2020 — Minor League Baseball™ (MiLB™) issued the following statement regarding a pair of articles published in recent weeks regarding the state of the Professional Baseball Agreement (PBA):

“Recent articles on the negotiations between MiLB and Major League Baseball (MLB) are largely inaccurate. There have been no agreements on contraction or any other issues. MiLB looks forward to continuing the good faith negotiations with MLB tomorrow as we work toward an agreement that best ensures the future of professional baseball throughout the United States and Canada.”

  1. Just an amazing press release in so many ways. Thanks for posting Mack.

You wonder who leaked the story to Baseball America saying that MiLB was going to go along with the contraction? MLB as a negotiation tactic?

When big corporations buy businesses for top dollar, all they do is look for their return on investment. They look at ways to cut costs to increase profits instead of looking long term to grow the game.

When the Baseball America story broke today you texted me Mack on how this would further drive away the best athletes away from baseball. It will also result in countless lawsuits by cities that funded stadiums to get/keep minor league teams.

MLB has been losing attendance the past few years. Homer happy, 8 different relief pitcher, station to station, 3 run homer, strike out baseball is boring baseball. Games played late at night - with 2 minute commercial breaks kills fans.

When I was a kid - everyone loved baseball - all we ever talked about was baseball. Kids today hate it. They prefer European Soccer leagues (which is the most boring sport in the world - but right now - is better than the brand of baseball being sold by MLB).

    Wake up guys.
