Mets Links:

Mike's Mets - The Evolving Bullpen: Mike looks at how the Rays built their “deep, diverse and pretty darned cheap bullpen” as opposed to the Mets “investing big in Jeurys Familia and Dellin Betances to shore up their late-game bullpen and not getting much bang for the buck.

Talkin Mets with Mike Silva: The Captain David Wright.

Rising Apple: Three Mets trade targets flying under the radar this winter. Writer Adrian Cervantes discusses: Nathan Eovaldi; Daniel Norris; and Richard Rodriguez.

Rising Apple: Why the Mets should extend Noah Syndergaard this offseason. “In light of the uncertainty of post-surgery production, this offseason is the perfect time to make an offer, which carries a low-risk/high-reward potential…Ideally, the Mets would offer Noah Syndergaard something in the range of three years/$36M.”

Mets360: The Mets should decline Wilson Ramos’ team option.

Tim Ryder Metsmerized Online: Why Mets Should Pass on Trevor Bauer. “But throwing silly money at a career 3.90 ERA pitcher — regardless of his outstanding 11-start run with Cincinnati this season — feels like a substantial gamble and the exact opposite direction of where this organization should be heading.”

Empire Sports Media: The New York Mets should target a Cleveland Indians player, but not Lindor. Instead, the Mets should target one of Cleveland’s young starters. Zach Plesac, Triston McKenzie and Aaron Civale come to mind.

Metsmerized Online: Examining Potential Trade Suitors for Francisco Lindor.  Besides the Mets the Angels, Cardinals, and the Giants are looked at potential landing spots.

Metsmerized Online: MMO Free Agent Profile: Kirby Yates, RHP.

Empire Sports Media: New York Mets Player Evaluations: Outfielder Billy Hamilton. The Mets received a month of Hamilton after trading away Jordan Humphreys. Hamilton only received five starts in 16 games which resulted in one hit over 22 at-bats.

  1. I am more impressed with Arozarena hit and HR records here than Kershaw's taking the all time post season K lead. Clayton os contantly in the playoffs. If Jake got there that much, he'd have the record.

I wonder how Jake feels not playing and just watching - yet again. 189 career playoff innings for Kershaw, 25 for Jake.

Kershaw's playoff ERA is still 4.19.
