The Daily Mets Minor League Update - July 4th

Morning.

Matt (@MattTalkToEm)

Jeremy Hefner I know what you drive and I have your license plate. I need 7 inning starts from every starter for the rest of the season or that Wh!te Nisson Rogue you drive every day is getting posted.

Christopher Soto (@SotoC803)

Brooks Raley and Adam Ottavino have both thrown 8 pitches in the last 3 days....

Robertson got yesterday off....

There is an off day tomorrow....

And Buck is going with Brigham and Leone here in the 7th inning.

ZERO SENSE of URGENCY.  Buck is part of the problem.

Greg Zumach (@IvyFutures)

Tonight was shaping up to be a nice comeback and a series win against a solid opponent. Now you enter a make or break series in Milwaukee followed by the Yankees. The Cubs are 6 games back tonight. If they’re 8-9 games back next Saturday it really forces the Front Office’s hand.

Transactions:

RHSP Elieser Hernández optioned to Triple-A Syracuse.

LHP Zach Muckenhirn was designated for assignment

Mets obtained RHP Chris Flexen from Seattle

Mets obtained RHP Trevor Goff from Seattle

Mets traded LHP Zach Muckenhirn to Seattle

Mets DFA RHP Chris Flexen

Danny Abriano (@DannyAbriano)

Newly acquired reliever Trevor Gott will give the Mets a solid arm in a bullpen that really needs one

He’s had a decent year, and his 3.01 FIP suggests he’s had some bad luck. Has allowed just 2 homers, has walked 2.5 per 9 and K’d 9.9 per 9

MACK - FREE AGENT NEXT SEASON

Player Of The Day -

For a .179 hitter, St. Lucie’s CF Dyron Campos had a day in their 13-11 win last night. Campos went 2-3, 3-R, 4TH double, 3rd homer, and drove in four.

Wow.

    1. Needs to hit more on poor pitching

If he can't hit for average at this level...

      Very young

      Patience

  2. Vasil sharp. Good. Maybe he added some fine Branny de Oleo to his diet for energy.

  3. Murphy ripping it in minors for the Angels....couldn't we have given him a chance. Oh sorry I forgot we have Porky. Is Eppy forcing his playing time because after his imfamous "mental break" he had 1 hot week amazing. Will this team ever stop trying to make bad deals work.

  4. JD Davis, remember him? Guys like you ran him out of town.A little patience and he’s be batting fifth this year instead of playing for the Jints.

  5. Koos, my problem with Vogelbach is his one-dimensionality - when he gets on he clogs the bases; and lately he isn't even getting on; and he really is purely a DH. My brother was clamoring for JD Martinez - if the Mets could have gotten him, a big difference. Vogie could be going downhill at age 30. He's had half a season - how much "little patience" do you suggest the Mets be?
