Tom Brennan - McCann Stock Up 50% in a Single Day; Worse Than 1962?

There’s Always A Catch

Facing washed-up pitching can be drops of water on a parched tongue.

Former Mets catcher James McCann entered last night Oriole-Mets fling with 10 RBIs, not to mention a .197 average.

He finished the game at .215, with 15 RBIs.

A 50% increase in RBIs. Dude is in Fuego City.

Nothing like facing weak AAA pitching in the bigs to get a guy going.

Gussy up those stats, James McCann.

His 15 RBIs are 9 more than the thundering Narvaez/Nido combo have in roughly the same # of at bats, just saying.

Oh…

The 1962 Mets staff was better than the Mets’ currently constructed one.

Am I wrong?

  2. wow!...now he's batting .215 What a guy.
This guy stunk as a Mets, and he stinks as an Oriole
We could have signed Realmuto, and kept him away from Philly.
One of Mets worst decisions ever.
Set our catching staff back 3, 4? years.

Here's a summary of the 2024 NY Mets season in a nutshell.

The NY Mets management went for all the marbles and sadly lost their bet. It really was the only realistic strategy card that they had to play for 2023, and it indeed it was worth the shot.

Now it's a whole brand new team with a much upgraded MiLB. With all the younger player additions having been made now, the future in MetsLand looks very bright. This was a "good thing."

We all just have to lick our wounds, wipe away the tears, get back up on our feet again, and get back in the race.

    "That's life."

This new route is absolutely the best and right one to have made at the Trade Deadline. All that is needed now here really, as the team soon heads off into the off season, will be adding in the two new really good and younger top-end starters into the 2024 starting rotation. How exactly this is done, will require profound scrutiny on the Mets management's part. They can handle it.

  4. 2024 NY Mets Catcher

    Is Francisco Alvarez, period.

They just need an adequate backup with sound catching skills and a bat.

    Don't sweat this.
