Nick Morabito is getting it D..O..N..E
Nick’s stat page lists him as a shortstop, but he is not that…he is a CF.
You haven’t heard much about Nick because, after his demitasse-sized cup of coffee season in 2022, he played less than 60 games this year split between the FCL and for the St. Lucie Mets.
That is a bummer, because when he has played, he has been impressive:
209 at bats, .309, 25 RBIs, 21 steals.
And take out his slow 3 for 21 season start; he hit .325 the rest of the way.
20 years old until mid-May next year. So he is young, son.
I expect more power, and he is sure-handed defensively and compiled 9 career outfield assists in just 51 OF games.
Lots of good minor league hitters in Metsville after the trade season, but could Morabito be another Pete Crow Armstrong? Pete was called up this week, FYI. By the Cubs. Not the Mets.
Hope Morabito is the next Crow. Morabito should be ready in 2026. In he starts getting 500 plate appearances a year.
JOEY….
”‘ nuf said.” All ya gotta say is Joey. The guy with the 2.83 Mets ERA.
Joey took it into the 8th in a 7-1 win.
Dude is brilliant. You may not be. He is, though.
Management was not too Brilliant keeping him in Syracuse so much.
I don’t see any other 2.83 ERAs around, do you?
Marky Mark Vientos:
The slugger is heating up. Cracked his 5th. Nice.
PETE?
3 RBIs. Now 108. Wow. 17 games left to get to 50/120.
HBP UPDATE:
DJ Stewart was hit by a pitch. Hey, why not?
For the record, the Mets pitchers hit no one. Mets have been hit 97 times, while Mets pitchers have hit just 76.
Baltimore hitters, by comparison? 41 HBP.
Mets’ RX from Dr. Brennan?
Retaliate more. Get hit less.
In AA…
Jett had a hit and RBI. Soaring.
Schwartz had a hit and walk. Soaring.
Guillorme hitless again. Snoring.
Christian Scott pitched well for 2.2 shutout innings. I guess he was pulled early to have him well rested and ready for the playoffs next week. The playoffs that Binghamton should WIN.
Scott was on a strict 40 pitch count coming back from some soreness
ReplyDeleteMoribito. Another CF candidate though I still.think Acùna will wind up there
It is pretty exciting to see all of the young talent progressing in the minors. Lots of callups for people like Nick and Jett that are rising quickly.
ReplyDeleteBaty probably lost for the season with groin injury
ReplyDeleteThe cream rises to the top.
ReplyDeleteMack, Batys injury is Mark’s huge opportunity to finish strong and play a lot.
ReplyDeleteBaty finishes with a Manhattan area code 212.
Lotsof speedy talent rising up. And some boppers, too. Nice.
ReplyDeleteI think the Mets have a starting pitcher this winter. The Mets have Peterson, Megill, Butto and Lucchesi on the 40 man roster. In addition I feel that may need to add other pitchers to this list or possible lose them in the Rule 5th draft. Such as Joander Suarez.
ReplyDeleteHow do you think they can handle this? Trades?
In spring training they probable will add Vasil, Hamels, Tidwell, Scott and Stuart.
Raw
DeleteYou are a year ahead of the time-line
The Mets have Senga and Quintana
They will most probably add one more. Probably Yamamoto
The Binghamton starters will not be rushed no matter how well they do in ST
I expect Butto and Lucchese to fill out the opening day rotation
I also said they have a 49 man roster problem this winter with 4 starting pitchers who mostly pitched in Syracuse this year plus possibly needing to add maybe one more due to protect the pitcher from the Rule5 draft

Mack where do you expect Peterson and Megill to start next season!
ReplyDeleteI hope they are middle relievers
DeleteI have a few others, Mack, who to me are at least blue, like Stanley Consuegra and Zayas. At some point, I will come up with my own red/blue prospect list.
ReplyDeleteWhat are Red,Blue prospects?
ReplyDeleteAlbert, Mack can explain better, but Red prospects are his most likely to succeed in the big leagues guys, Blue are those less definite in his mind to have major league success in the future, based on their results so far.
ReplyDeleteTom described it right
DeleteTonight, the entire baseball world is anxiously watching to see if Joander Suarez can throw his 3rd straight start with no hits allowed.
ReplyDeleteSenga is Sengsational
