Mets Breakout Game Prospect Roster for Next Week vs. Nats’ Prospects

Mets roster for the Spring Breakout baseball-wide 32 game series to occur next week (source: Anthony DiComo, MLB Mets).

WOW…don’t miss it.

How about Ben Simon being included? 13th round righty pick in 2023, he has less than 10 pro innings under his belt. 7.11 ERA in that very limited sample.  Surprising inclusion.

I have no idea why some guys were excluded - if you do, let us know:

  1. Why no Hamel, Vasil or Scott on the staff? That's the big mystery to me.

  2. I see Hamel now. He wasn't on the list that I saw yesterday. Thanks.

  3. I don’t mean to bring down the excitement of this event, but I feel really tepid about this game. I am ready for major leaguers and enough of the prospects, unless it’s real news. Two things that I read today which made my eyebrow go up:
Alex Ramirez went through a swing change in the off season and will begin in AA. Quite interesting for a guy that had a rough year.
The Cubs blogs are still clamoring for Alonso. Even after trading for Michael Busch, they are proposing Horton, Busch and Weaks for Alonso. That’s not bad, but take out Busch and give up Ben Brown and we have a deal!

  4. Gus, I was only disappointed that Alex Ramirez when I saw one of his spring hits looked skinny. But muscular or not, it comes down to…how will he hit with his speed.

  5. Like what I saw of Ramirez this spring.

  6. What time is the Nationals-Mets game on Fri, March 15.

The Spring Breakout will be played as Game 1 of a doubleheader at 3:10 p.m. ET at Clover Park. Game 2 (major league teams, I believe) will begin at 6:10 p.m. ET.

    How can I tune in?
