  1. NONE! The only possible slot in the lineup that the new guy would fill is DH, meaning Vientos would go upstate or be traded.
In essence, this is giving up on a guy who may never amount to anything or may be another Amos Otis.

We've got to give him 3 months of everyday play.If he flops, there will be plenty of salary dumps to choose from in July, or someone at 'Cuse would be ready for promotion.

  2. Management is getting a good look at Vientos who, so far this spring and last spring, too, led the team in ABs.

They have to decide if he is sufficient or insufficient.

    Then decide on a course.

    1. Do you think half of ST is sufficient time to decide if he's "keep or dump"?

  3. They’re watching closely, and each day gets us one day closer to foster decisions. I will say this: the offense is scoring 3.3 runs per game

  4. I was thinking this morning:
What if the pitching is good, but the offense is not there? Meaning, no 30/30 for Lindor or injured; Alonso has cratered the last couple of weeks also, so what about a repeat of last year or is also injured? Marte may not be better that Travis Taylor right now.

My point is really focused on Baty and Vientos. If the whole team is cold, should their struggles be held against them?

For this reason, I want Davis. He can play the field and take Stewart’s roster spot except that this team is too right handed.
