I hope none of you doubt this dude anymore,
Senga is, indeed, the ACE of this staff and
proves every outing that he is a viable candidate for the Cy Young award this season.
The sad part about this outing was the run that
was charged to him after another walked a batter in. If that hadn’t happened,
Senga would have been tickling the 0.99 range for his ERA.
Every one of his pitches had a 0.0% rate,
except for the forkball (14.3%), but the fork produced a 37.9% whiff% and a proStuff
+ of a whopping 117.
The slider produced a 100% whiff%.
This has been a magical season so far for Mets
starters. Yes, I still am highly critical of the way Carlos Mendosa pulls these
guys early, but you can’t argue with the results… the lowest ERA in the league.
