#25 Brady Ebel
SS Corona (CA)
17/years old 6'
3" 190
COMMITTED - Louisiana State
Scouting grades: Hit: 55 | Power: 50 | Run: 45 | Arm: 60 |
Field: 50 | Overall: 50
Ebel grew up around the game, with his father, Dino, serving
as the Dodgers’ third-base coach. His experience working with big leaguers for
a long time was clearly on display throughout the summer showcase circuit at
events like the Area Code Games and Major League Baseball’s High School
All-American Game. He also helped Corona High School win the 2024 National High
School Invitational last spring and is one of three players from the school who
have the chance to land in the first round.
While he doesn’t have any plus tools yet, Ebel can do a lot
of things very well, with some physical projection that could allow his skills
to play up. It’s clear he’s been around professional hitters, with a smooth
left-handed swing and an advanced approach at the plate. There’s a little
concern about bat speed, but he finds the barrel consistently and performed
well against high-level stuff over the summer. There could very well be more
power to come as he fills out his 6-foot-3 frame.
Ebel doesn’t run well and many see a move to third in his
future, which would put a little more pressure on the power side of his
offensive profile. He does have a plus arm that is impressively accurate and
would play from anywhere. His baseball IQ allows everything to play up and is a
big reason why many see the LSU recruit hearing his name called early on in the
Draft.

23. Kansas City Royals: Brady Ebel, SS, Corona High School
(California)
If Brady Ebel is taken in the first round, it would be the
first time that a high school has developed three first-rounders in the same
draft. MLB.com gave Ebel a 55-hit tool with 50 power and 60 arm. MLB prospect
guru Jim Callis says Ebel has “enviable bat-to-ball skills and an incredibly
accurate arm.” The Royals would love to have Ebel in the same infield with
Bobby Witt Jr. for the next decade.

school prospects entering the spring
10. Brady Ebel, SS, Corona (California)
Ebel’s father is Dodgers third base coach Dino Ebel.
Predictably, Brady shows an advanced approach at the plate. He could end up at
3B in the pros and will still only be 17 on draft day, so his upside is
immense.

No. 18 Arizona Diamondbacks: Brady Ebel, SS, Corona. Calif.
There is a reason Corona High School is the nation’s No. 1
high school baseball team.
Brady Ebel is the third player we have going in the top 16
from the program.
Some consider Ebel the best hitter in the high school class.
He's 6-foot-3, 190 pounds and the son of Dodgers third base coach Dino.
A unanimous top-25 prospect who ranked No. 16 at FloBaseball,
Ebel is a player who has room to grow, both physically and developmentally.

MLB 2025 Mock Draft 2.0: Predictions for Every 1st-Round Pick
20. Milwaukee Brewers: SS Brady Ebel, Corona HS (CA)
Ebel has been a strong performer on the showcase circuit,
outperforming his average physical tools thanks to his polished overall game
and high baseball IQ. The 6'3", 190-pound infielder might fit best at
third base once he fills out physically, though he will need to continue adding
pop to his smooth left-handed swing. The Brewers pick again at No. 32 and No.
33, so expect a mix of high-ceiling preps and high-floor college players.

10. Brady Ebel – SS
HT/WT: 6’3/190 | Bat/Throw: L/R | School: Corona (CA) |
Commitment: Louisiana State | Age: 17.11
The son of longtime Angels third base coach Dino Ebel, Brady
is one of the more famous bats in this class. Ebel is renowned for his maturity
and contact prowess at the dish, though he did get off to a slow start to the
summer.
He gradually got better as the summer progressed, ending on a
high note at the PBR All-American Classic in Miami. His sweet left-handed swing
is very repeatable with a quick, direct path to the baseball that is built for
line drives presently.
Ebel doesn’t sell out for a ton of power and while it’s a
hit-over-power profile now, he’ll grow into more power as he begins to fill out
his lean frame. He’s got the defensive chops to stick on the left side of the
dirt, too. He may grow off of shortstop once he physically matures, but Ebel
has excellent hands, rangy actions, and a strong arm to handle the position.
If he outgrows shortstop, he’ll fit in at third base. There’s
a bit of Eric Bitonti in his profile. He will be one of the youngest bats in
the class, too, as he won’t turn 18 until late July. He is committed to
attending Louisiana State.

22. Brady Ebel, SS, Corona (Calif.) HS
Ebel lacks prototypical tools but has excellent baseball
lineage, with his father being the third base coach for the Los Angeles
Dodgers, and the fact that he is the third player from the same high school on
this list means he will be seen a lot this spring. Has a lean projectable frame
but shows great baseball feel and instincts, without much of a carrying tool.
But there is promise with the bat and projection to the body for power.

20. Brewers: Brady Ebel, SS, Corona (Calif.) HS (No. 25)
The son of Dodgers third-base coach Dino has enviable
bat-to-ball skills and an incredibly accurate arm. This would give Corona three
first-rounders in the same first round, something no high school has ever
accomplished.

2024 National Showcase
Brady Ebel is a 2025 SS/3B with a 6-3 190 lb. frame from
Rancho Cucamonga, CA who attends Corona. Big broad shouldered athletic build
with lots of physical projection remaining. 7.04 runner in the sixty. Primary
shortstop on defense, has clean fundamentals and soft hands at the ball, smooth
through the ball, makes accurate throws, can see him outgrowing shortstop and
ending up at third base. Left handed hitter, hits from a slightly open medium
base, short inward toe tap into his stride, line drive approach, loose and
extended swing, very consistent timing, pull side to mid field contact.
Excellent student, verbal commitment to Louisiana State. Selected to play in
the Perfect Game All-American Classic.
8/4/24 - B/R - 2025 Mock Draft

Washington Nationals: Brady Ebel, SS, Corona High School
(California)

LSU baseball coach Jay Johnson is absolutely cooking in the
2025 recruiting class. Johnson recently picked up another prospect in that
class as Brady Ebel committed to LSU.
Ebel comes from a baseball bloodline as his father, Dino
Ebers, is the third base coach for the Los Angeles Dodgers. His brother, Trey
Ebers, is also a high-profile recruit but he is in the 2026 recruiting class.
Ebel plays multiple positions but he mainly plays shortstop
and third base. He can also pitch if that is what the team needs from him. Kind
of in the same vein as Gavin Guidry. Perfect Game has Ebel listed as a 10 out
of 10 on their grading scale. He has good size at 6-foot-3 and 190 pounds.
