Scouting Report - SS - Michael Sirota

 Michael Sirota

SS      6-2     175     The Gunnery HS (NY)

11-9-20 - PG -

Michael Sirota (2021 Queens, NY) has simply just raked all year hitting well over .400 in 2020. It culminated in Jupiter where he strung together a number of quality at bats while showing off his power stroke too as he launched a long home run. He can pick it on the left side of the infield too.

Michael Sirota, SS/OF, Team Northeast

Sirota turned heads at the Mid-Atlantic Prospect Showcase earlier this summer and came down to Fort Myers showing off his cannon of an arm along with hitting a bomb later in the week. He’s a 6.5 runner with an absolute hose of an arm that plays very well from right field and the impressive bat speed and power upside posit big upside long term.

Michael Sirota is a 2021 SS/MIF, OF with a 6-2 175 lb. frame from Queens, NY who attends The Gunnery. Recorded a 6.57 second sixty-yard dash time. Large, projectable frame with quick twitch athleticism and still room to add strength. Primary middle-infielder with fluid, extremely athletic actions into and through the fielding process. Displays first step quickness with limitless range, clean funnel out in front and quickness into the transfer and throwing motion. Well-engaged lower half during the throwing process with above average arm strength recorded up to 96 mph across the diamond. Right-handed hitter that hits from a slightly open stance with a high back elbow and small leg lift trigger. Middle-of-the field approach with advanced bat-to-ball skills, plus barrel accuracy and the ability to impact the baseball. Simple, slightly downward swing path with advanced hand-eye coordination and leverage out in front. Innate hitting ability that translates well into game play and emerging power potential that will continue to expand with slight swing adjustment and additional strength

PBR -

7/31/19 - Sirota burst onto the scene breaking into the top 5 infield velocities at 91 MPH across the diamond. The Westchester County resident who stands a wiry 6-foot-1 170 pounds impressed across the board with a 6.65 60 and also posted a 92 MPH exit velocity. Offensively - At the plate he uses a controlled toe-tap as he shifts his weight back; hands are direct to contact with zone acceleration. Defensively he showed above average glove side range and make the play on the move from both sides of the bag.

Mack's spin -

Sirota has to be considered in this draft. He has done nothing but hit throughout his development.

I expect him gone sometime on Day 2.
