Mets Minor League Report: April 25, 2014
MMLR Player of the Day: Savannah RHSP Robert Gsellman.
The Mets farm is 4-0 for the 2nd straight night, even with Bingo’s rainout.
Las Vegas (17-5) tops Tacoma (10-9) 7-6.
Noah Syndergaard (W, 3-2) gets the win: 5.0 IP, 3 R, 6 H, (HR) 2 BB, 6 K. (Almost identical to Montero’s line last night.)
Buddy Carlyle: 1.0 IP, R, 0 ER, H, K.
Josh Edgin: 0.2 IP, 0 R, 2 H, K.
Miguel Socolovich: 1.1 IP, 2 R, 3 H, 2 K.
Jeff Walters (S, 6) pitches the 9th again: 0 R, 2 H, K.
Wilmer Flores: 1-4, BB, 2 R.

Allan Dykstra: 2-4, 2B, RBI.
Zach Lutz: 1-4, 2B, 2 RBI.
Taylor Teagarden: 2-3, 2 2B, RBI, R.
Binghamton (10-7) @ Erie (8-10) postponed - rain.
It appears that the Monsoon Season has invaded the Southern Tier. This is Binghamton’s umpteenth rainout of this young season.
St. Lucie (13-8) slams Palm Beach (9-11) 13-4.
Michael Fulmer’s fine start was almost wasted: 5.0 IP, 0 R, 5 H, 0 BB, 4 K.
Fulmer left with the score tied at 0, and Jake Kuebler was quickly the beneficiary of a 3 run 6th inning. Kuebler gave up a couple of hits in the 7th, and left with 2 out and 2 on. Kuebler’s line: 1.2 IP, 5 R, 4 ER, 7 H, BB, 6 K.
Randy Fontanez (BS, 1) (W, 2-1) allowed both inherited runners to score, blowing the save, and then capped off the inning by allowing a HR. To his fortune, however, he stayed in to pitch the top of the 8th, and was therefore the pitcher of record when the Lucies scored 10 runs in the bottom of the inning. His line: 1.1 IP, 2 R, 3 H, (HR) 0 BB, K.
Beck Wheeler then pitched a perfect bottom of the 9th. (K)
St. Lucie scored 13 tonight after scoring 15 last night.
On base machine, Brandon Nimmo, continued his on-base onslaught: 2-2, 3 BB, 2 R, SB.
T.J. Rivera: 2-5, RBI, R.
Jairo Perez: 2-4, RBI, 3 R.
Aderlin Rodriguez: 2-4, GSHR, 2B, BB, 6 RBI, R.
Game 1: Savannah (13-6) upends Lakewood (5-15) 4-1.
Robert Gsellman (W, 2-2) pitched a complete game gem: 7.0 IP, R, 5 H, 0 BB, 7 K. The bull pen was rested for the 2nd game of this double header, and Gsellman’s ERA now stands at 1.48.
Jeff McNeil: 3-3, 2B, RBI, 2 R, 2 SB. (.347)
L.J. Mazzilli: 1-2, HR, BB, 2 RBI, R.
Game 2: Savannah (14-6) sweeps Lakewood (5-16) 10-2.
Miller Diaz (W, 1-0) also tosses a gem: 6.0 IP, 2 R, 4 H, 2 BB, 8 K.
Dawrin Frias, in an obvious non-save situation: 1.0 IP, 0 R, H, BB, 2 K.
Jeff McNeil: 2-3, BB, RBI, 2 R.
L.J. Mazzilli: 1-4, BB, 2 R.
Jarod King: 1-4, 2B, BB, 2 RBI, R.
Stefan Sabol: 2-3, HR, BB, 5 RBI, R, SB.
Dominick Smith: 2-4, 2B, R.
Jorge Rivero: 2-4, R.
Colton Plaia: 3-4, 2 2B, RBI, 2 R.
