John From Albany – Mets Breakfast Links 7/6/2020

Good Morning. Happy Birthday to Willie Randolph and Lance Johnson.  Luis Rojas says Jed Lowrie is a “Full Go” and yesterday Jacob deGrom was in “mid-season form”.

Mets Links:

NY Post: Jacob DeGrom looks dominant during simulated Mets game. “Facing the Mets’ everyday lineup, Jacob deGrom was predictably ahead of the hitters. He initiated mostly weak contact, struck out three and didn’t walk a batter over two innings in which he threw 34 pitches…While facing nine hitters over two innings, deGrom only allowed singles to Dominic Smith and Yoenis Cespedes. He fanned newcomer Jake Marisnick to begin his outing and later struck out Pete Alonso and Rene Rivera.”

SNY.TV (No longer MetsBlog): Luis Rojas says Jacob deGrom is in 'mid-season form' after Mets first sim game.

Mets.com: Back on field, Lowrie aims to contribute in '20. “About two hours after Mets manager Luis Rojas described Jed Lowrie as a “full go” on Sunday…Lowrie emerged onto the Citi Field dirt with a group of teammates...Unlike his teammates, however, Lowrie was not sprinting. Wearing a brace on his left leg, Lowrie instead jogged slowly around the basepaths when it was his turn to run. He never approached anything resembling full speed.”

  1. I was hit in the face once from an a liner hit down the third base line. All I remember about it was the shock felt when it struck.

  2. That Giancarlo Stanton is one big headache.

Cespedes owns Jake deGrom. MVP next?

If Lowrie is ineligible for insurance payout to Wilpons, he should be a 30 man pinch hitter. Brace for impact.

Betances will be a big asset, I think.
