The Tigers' Jonathan Schoop looks very interesting given his price and production. The Cardinals' Kim Kwang-Hyun is an appealing starter for the same reason. Finally, Darren O'Day from the Yankees would also look like he's worth pursuing.
ReplyDeleteQuite a collection of potential acquisitions. Cubs (9.5 out) would be in there, too.
ReplyDeleteYou want to get impactful players only, who are either inexpensive or could be with the Mets as a key player for at least the next few years.
Cubs-wise, Bryant's name keeps popping up - but after a sizzling start, he is hitting .150 since the end of May.
You also have to consider if JDD is soon returning healthy or not. And Cookie.
Maybe Escobar for JD Davis? Arizona would get a cheaper guy with upside. Tyler Anderson? Chasen Shreve? Kimbrel? Danny Duffy? Andrew Miller?
Any seem like viable moves.
Trevor Story - not that would be a bold move. But his career slug % outside Coors is 175 points lower than there, and he is .243 lifetime outside Coors. I have not seen him enough to know if he is a mere mortal waiting to happen outside Coors.
Yanks do not consider themselves out by any means. No trades there, unless they plummet.
I would rather have Harvey Weinstein than Matt Harvey at this point.
I 'd rather have Harvey the 6-foot tall invisible rabbit than either one.🐰
ReplyDeleteDuffy, Pineda, Gray and Shreve tempt me, but none of the position players on the list.
ReplyDeleteOur pitching needs are very short-term, if Carrasco is expected back in 2-3 weeks. We need a #5 SP now, not at the end of the month.
If Thor and Carrasco will be healthy next year, our rotation is well-covered, but the next two weeks could be crucial.
