For @Mets prospect Luke Ritter, there’s no such thing as an offseason. 😤

Luuuuuuuuuke! Luke Ritter with a 3-run shot - his 13th home run of the year - to give Brooklyn a 3-0 lead in the top of the first. #amazinstartshere pic.twitter.com/fw0VUvkZdg

Into the thick of it. Into the thick of it. Luke Ritter sends this 3-run blast into the thick of it.

ReplyDeleteMy computer is in slo-mo mode, so I will look at video later when it wakes up.
ReplyDeleteI am so looking forward to Ritter heading to AA Binghamton to start 2022 and getting him out of Brooklyn. His road stats were great, but Brooklyn was a nightmare. PUT HIM WHERE HE CAN THRIVE. Let's see what he can really do in a normal ballpark in 2022, with a hopefully 100% healed hand.
Don’t know much about Ritter, but I’ve heard the name and followed his performance. Another 33%K rate… Is that a prerequisite for being a Mets farmhand? Let’s see how he does in upstate New York.
ReplyDeleteGus, I liken Ritter to Cory Vaughn, a slugger who fanned a lot and did not make it to the bigs. K's kill, so Luke has to prove to be better than Cory Vaughn. Fortunately, he is not on the 40 man roster and so he can get right after it in minor league ball, strike or no strike.
ReplyDeleteHe said in his 2020 interview that in some senses he'd like to emulate Jeff McNeil. McNeil got to the big leagues in large part because he did not strike out.
