Home runs are a dime a dozen in today's game.
Home runs off of your relievers can be hazardous to your team's Win-Loss record.
Home runs allowed, period, can lead to failure, whether starter or reliever.
After all, Steve Matz allowed 78 homers in his 411 innings over the past 4 seasons, or one every 5.3 IP. Was failure a surprise?
So, it is interesting that the Mets signed lefty reliever Aaron Loup.
You see, in his career, he has faced 623 lefty hitters. Homers allowed to those lefties? FIVE. JUST FIVE.
Even against righties, he keeps home run totals modest, allowing 23 HRs in 865 plate appearances.
Overall, just 28 HRs allowed in 351 innings, or 1 every 12.5 innings, significantly better than major league average. To add emphasis, he has allowed just 3 HRs to 195 Yankees batters faced.
Nice to have a lefty that can be likely to be successful against the likes of Freddie Frickin' Freeman and Bryce Harper in the park.
His 2.52 ERA in 2020 is certainly encouraging too.
Thirteen career post season games too. He's been where Mets fans want to be.

Nice to hear but he needs help and I hope their working on it.
On another note MLB network listed the top SS's and Lindor was #4. Story was #1 followed by Tatis and Bogaerts at 2 and 3 how do you rank them?
