LF Wyatt Langford - No. 4
Wyatt Langford might have been No. 1 on this list if he played center field. After getting just four at-bats during his freshman year as the Gators’ reserve catcher, Langford made the move to left field last year and led the team in nearly every major offensive category as an everyday player.
With Jud Fabian in the Baltimore Orioles organization, Langford could try to take over that spot to boost his stock. He was better than expected in left, but playing center field at a pro level requires a bit more range and instinct. As long as the bat stays effective, Langford should be the most exciting player on the team this year.

5. Jacob Wilson, SS, Grand Canyon
The son of former big leaguer Jack Wilson, Jacob led NCAA Division I in strikeout rate (3 percent) while batting .358/.418/.585 last spring, then was the best hitter on the U.S. collegiate national team. He's a fundamentally sound hitter and defender with average speed and solid strength. He offers a higher floor but less ceiling than Gonzalez.

2. Detroit Tigers
Max Clark, Outfield, Franklin Community
While Dollander seems to be the slam dunk here, Detroit is going through a rediscovery of exactly who and what they are in terms of talent evaluation and organizational philosophy. The rebuild hasn’t gone as they hoped, and they were burned leaning so hard on developing pitching.
That’s not to say it’s the wrong approach, but we think it might be enough to push them in the direction of a super high-profile prep, or potentially a college bat like Florida outfielder Wyatt Langford or Ole Miss shortstop Jacob Gonzalez. In this scenario, we’ve got them grabbing Clark who projects to play a plus centerfield and hit for plenty of average.

RHP Hurston Waldrep
Waldrep enters his first season as a Gator after transferring in from Southern Miss during the offseason. Highly regarded as one of the top arms in the nation, Waldrep was named a 2022 Third Team All-American by D1Baseball after churning out 90 frames of 3.20 ERA ball with 140 strikeouts – translating to 14.0 strikeouts per nine innings.
The Thomasville, Ga. native was equally brilliant in limited action as a freshman in 2021, working to a 3.35 ERA and .217 batting average against with 16 strikeouts in 16 1/3 innings of work.

CHARLEE SOTO RHP / SS / REBORN CHRISTIAN ACADEMY, FL / 2023
Rankings STATERANK: 5 / POS: 1 OVERALLRANK: 27 / POS: 6
Last September, Soto was a wiry-athletic, uncommitted shortstop who hopped on the mound at the PBR Cup and showcased a short, quick arm with 87-89 fastballs. Fast forward a year, and the Central Florida recruit is quickly rocketing up draft boards with a fastball that sizzles through the zone at a heavy 93-96 with a tunneled slider at 80-84 and feel for a changeup at 83-85.
His emergence in prospect-dense Florida boosts the class even more, and he still shows signs of rising to new heights.

13. Roch Cholowsky, SS, Hamilton HS (Ariz.)
The son of Reds scout Dan Cholowsky, Roch is a multi-sport athlete who could have the chance to play football at UCLA should he want to go that route. He wasn’t seen much over the summer because he was preparing for football season, but he’s super athletic, looks the part at shortstop and can swing the bat.
