Brooklyn, that is.
The Brooklyn Cyclones won today, raising their record to 14-2.
As we all know, this is a team primarily made up of 2009 draft picks, so you may be seeing the beginnings of a super draft by Omar & Co.; however, most of the players leading the stat pages were not this year's kids.
It was obvious going into this game that certain players are standing out for an all-star trip (does the GCL teams play an all-star game???). They would be:
RF Luis Rivera - this is the "other" Rivera that was signed as a free agent earlier this season. The Puerto Rico native was drafted in the 5th round of the 2004 draft by the Angels and the Mets scooped him up this seasn. So far, he's hitting .409//.509/614/1.123, and that was before today's game, where he had a 3-run triple.
2B Matt Bouchard, who knocked around various Mets teams, has found his home back in Brooklyn and he's hitting at a .408/.426/.592/1.018 clip.
1B Sam Honeck is batting .300.
SP Brandon Moore might be the first Clone to bump up (actually, OF Seth Williams went to Lucy today, but that was to get some play time) this season. So far he's 2-0, 0.82, 0.64 in three starts.
SP Mark Cohoon, who pitched well last season for Savannah, is currently 3-0, 1.35, in three starts.
And SP James Fuller is spotless after three starts and 19.0IP: 3-0, 0.00.
