LAST GAME: Nick Evans returned to the Binghamton lineup and smacked a solo homer in the first inning of the B-Mets game with Bowie Monday night, however the Baysox scored the next six runs unanswered to win 6-2 at Prince George’s Stadium. Evans went 2-4 with the long ball, his 16th. Chris Schwinden was roughed up for five runs on six hits over five innings and was charged with the loss. Ryan Adams was the offensive start for Bowie with a 3-3 showing, including a two run homer in the second. Brian Roberts, who is rehabbing with the Baysox, managed two hits in five trips, including a double, and scored two runs. Jose Coronado joined Evans with a twohit
showing, going 2-4 as well. Raul Rivero was credited with the win for tossing two innings of one-hit relief following spotstarter Eddie Gamboa, who worked four innings of one-run ball.
STARTING PITCHING MATCHUP: LHP Mike Antonini will try to get the B-Mets back on the winning track with his Eastern League-leading 20th start. He has racked up four consecutive
quality starts, including a win in his last go-around, July 15 at New Hampshire. The southpaw hurled 6.2 innings and allowed a run on six hits in the 5-1 victory over the Fisher Cats. He is 6-7 with a 3.70 ERA over 112 innings, the sixth-highest inning total in the league. Antonini ranks fourth in the league in WHIP (1.13) and first in BB/9 IP (1.61). He went 7-5 with a 5.32 ERA over 25 appearances spanning 115 innings last year with Binghamton and was the Mets’ 18th-round choice in the June 2007 draft out of Georgia College & State University.
