Teddy Stankiewicz is a 2012 RHP/1B with a 6-4 200 lb. frame from Keller, TX who attends Southwest Christian HS. Tall projectable build, has some present strength. Fast paced leg raise delivery, compact arm action, smooth and quick out front. Steady 89-91 mph fastball, occasional cutting action that can be developed. Short quick slider, needs either more depth or more power to slider, has ingredients to add either or both, will occasionally let up on breaking ball for more depth at 74 mph. Tends to dip and slow on change up. Very good pick off move for a RHP, quick feet. Further development of slider key to development. Good student, verbal commitment to Arkansas.
6'04" 200lbs DOB: 11/25/93 | Full Scouting ReportHigh school pitchers are often projectable. Sometimes, they have good pitchability. Every once in a while, there's one like Stankiewicz, who's a little bit of both. Tall and lanky, there's room for growth in the Texas prep right-hander's frame. That could mean a few more ticks to a fastball that can already touch 93 and sits in the 88-91 mph range. Stankiewicz backs up the fastball with plus pitching instincts, mixing in three other pitches for strikes. His slider is the better of his two breaking balls, but both could be at least Major League average. He may not throw the changeup that much at this level, but he shows a good feel for it. If the fastball develops into a plus pitch and his secondary stuff is average to go along with his outstanding command and mound presence, this is a Major League starter in the making.

I like this pick. Finally an upside high school pick here but the question will be if the Mets can sign him.
I like this one. Finally a pitcher.
I do this for a living (sic) and... never heard of him
I had but pegged him in later rounds with zero chances of signing. 3rd/4th round. With this slot I wonder if the Mets can get him.
Looks like Teddy will not sign. The Mets offer was less than slot even though slot would have gotten it done. Disappointing.
There was a predrsft deal in place he would take less than recommended, but changed mind
those crazy kids...
