In the corresponding move Catcher Josh Thole has been activated from the 7 day concussion only Disabled List.
***As good as a receiver Mike Nickeas is, he is flat out AWFUL as a hitter. On the flip side, Johnson was hitting pretty well but from the games we got to see him catch we was extremely awkward looking behind the dish. In the choice of "pick your poison," the ability to work with the pitchers trumps offense.

the pitchers absolutely love being caught by Nick, which is the primary job of a catcher...
I predict he will become the Mets catcher coach after he retires
Considering Thole is going to catch most games, this is a non issur. Personally, i'd prefer Johnson, but i'm not a pitcher. I thought Johnson can catch Dickey every 5th day and potentially get a hit vs Nickeas brings next to nothing offensively.
