Of course, this is all
opinion and speculation.
Mets – Ike Davis – he has to get off the morning headlines…
you can’t send him to Buffalo because it would really screw with his head.
David Rubin had the best idea on a phone call last night. 7-day DL him for his
valley thing and send him to extended camp. The Brooklyn and Kingsport kids
will be done and there will only be a handful of DLers licking their wounds
there. Put the barriers up on the backfields so the fans can’t get in there and
let him work with the instructors in the cage. He can walk the beach in the
afternoon and clear his head.
Mets – Jenrry Mejia – give him a few more Buffalo starts and
send him to the Flushing pen. The Mets still need a capable SP5, but they may
need this kid’s stuff more coming in the late innings. Elvin Ramirez needs to
take a step back or be sent back to Buffalo for a while. He’s not using the
same patience on the mound that he’s used to using. Frankly, he’s taking too
much time between pitches and needs to stop thinking and just pitch.
Buffalo – Collin McHugh – the promotion of Mejia will open a
slot in the Buffalo rotation and Collin deserves it more than anyone else. No
one is quite sure where McHugh fits into the Mets plans, but he’s serious trade
bait right now. Look for him to stay put if that is true.
Binghamton - Alan Dykstra – Alan is in camp and just about ready to
come off the DL. He’s return to Binghamton and gain strength to get back to
being the Mets emergency first baseman.
Binghamton - 4th
OFer – I can’t seem to get an update on when Cesar
Puello will be coming off the DL. If it is extended, I would look for Cory Vaughn to move here and, jokingly, start off in
his usual fast way.
Binghamton - Chase Hutchingson – there will be a rotation opening
here if McHugh moves up and Chase has earned the bump.
St. Lucie – T.J. Chism – he’s next to come out of the Savannah
pen.

I think the 7 day DL is only for concussions.
What about that Wheeler kid at AA? Any room for him at AAA or SP#3 spot in Queens?lol
Kidding about the Queens part, but I'll be the first one to tell you that I wanted him to spend the year at AA to dominate, but I think he's exceeding expectations and we need to talk about getting him in the rotation as early as spring training next year.
I'd prefer to see Harvey get the first crack as a backend rotation guy, but Wheeler should atleast get some time in AAA in the next few weeks.
15 day would be the way for ike
I would also make him watch video of himself last year for the first month and a half when he was on fire and not let him stop hitting and make him do repetitions until his hands bleed...
yeah, I meant 15... my bad
McHugh has earned the open slot... maybe after the break, but I can't see two slots opening before the break
