Hello again everyone!
As I wake up today to this beautiful sunny morning and hear
the noise of the birds chirping and lawn mowers blaring I realize today is
already going to be a great day for a multitude of reasons:
1.
I cannot believe the Mets stole that game in the
9th inning last night! I had been watching the game and thought The
Mets were done and like a clown had fallen asleep and missed probably the best
9th inning comeback all year. Seriously the sheer luck of Daniel
Murphy’s infield single was honestly absurd…and the fact the Papelbon had no
play and then promptly slipped made it hilarious. And Mr. Wright with a bloop single that
landed just in front of Hunter Pence to seal the deal was great truly great…I don’t
know about everyone else but this year Citi Field finally feels like home for
the orange and blue
2.
With that win last night a potential sweep of
the LAST PLACE Cubs would put our beloved Metropolitans a cool 10 games over
.500 and last time I checked that was a good thing. Now in all honesty The Mets SHOULD take 2 of 3
from the Cubs and they could put a bow on what would be a VERY successful 1st
with a nice 5-2 stretch heading into the break. Personally id love a sweep but
2 out of 3 is more realistic and you HAVE to beat the weaker teams on the
schedule when you can because..Well that’s what contenders do.
3.
Philadelphia Phillies 13 games out of 1st
in the NL east……JUSTICE. Some people may feel that’s unprofessional but where
was the sympathy for the Mets in 09? When the Mets had the best DL money could
buy? Meh ,let them be miserable for a
while and get a taste of what Met fans have endured the last few years
4.
Lastly, I’m going to the game tonight! I’ll be
that guy sporting a Kirk Nieuwenhuis jersey on the Pepsi porch. Also this will
be the 1st game I’ll have been to that Mike Pelfrey or Dillon Gee is
not going to be the starter and I get the treat of seeing JOHAN SANTANA pitch so I’m quite giddy and can’t
wait. BTW anyone else notice the PIRATES
are 2 games up in the NL central? (impressive)
