A Healthy Jett Williams Doing His Job
Bad (but not terrible) news in SNY on the Jett front came out on Friday:
"JETT WILLIAMS, who last played for Double-A Binghamton on April 21 after sustaining a wrist injury, had successful surgery completed on Thursday in Scottsdale, Ariz.
The 20-year-old underwent a right wrist TFCC debridement procedure with Dr. Donald Sheridan. A typical return to game activity for this type of procedure is 8-10 weeks which would put the shortstop back on the field at some point in early- to mid-August.
Williams gave an update on X (formerly Twitter) on Friday afternoon and was in good spirits, saying, “Thank you for family friends, and fans for everything!! Dr, Sheridan did a great job expecting to be ready to go here soon!! God has a plan and we will be [back] soon!! Proverbs 3:5-6.""

We wish Jett a speedy, perfect recovery. God does have a plan.
So, it has not been a good year for 4 prospect hitters, health-wise…
Jett likely will miss half the 2024 campaign.
Gilbert will likely miss 40% of the 2024 campaign.
No word that I have heard on Jacob Reimer, out since the start of spring training with an unspecified injury, so my guess is he will miss half the 2024 campaign.
And Ronny Mauricio will miss perhaps the entire 2024 campaign.

Injuries are part of the game. Hopefully this little bit of adversity for Jett makes him stronger mentally.
If Gilbert is back mid June, both he and Jett lose an average of a half season? Tough to swallow. You want to see fast progress from “your best.”
Chris Suero had been struggling a bit adjusting to High A ball since his promotion after his great season start for St Lucie. But last 2 games, on base 9 of 10 times, 2 HRs. That blasts him up to .239. 20 year old catcher/OF with a .386 OBP.
Junior Tilien has a 17 consecutive games on base streak.
I did half-watch a DVR recording of Brooklyn game, who are suddenly rampaging IN BROOKLYN the last 2 games, with 25 or 26 runs and 34 hits. Nonetheless, I saw some deep shots to right die on the track and Nick Lorusso lose a HR on a bolt double off the wall in left center. And a ridiculous 412 in CF?? Move the fences in 10 feet.
Jonah Tong looked very good, even though he gave up 4 runs in 5 IP. He gave up 2 runs on a HR after an apparently missed strike 3 call, and gave up 3 or 4 bloop hits dropping in front of outfielders.
