Lucy won 4-1.
How many times has a baseball organization gone giddy over a pitching prospect pitching lights out at the A+ level?
As a Mets follower, I could give you a 100+ player list of guys that never made it to the Bigs in a way worth remembering, but, at the same time, pitched incredibly at the high-A level. Hell, the Mets have some (Mike Antonini, Dillon Gee, Jonathan Niese) going through the same heartburn now.
Well, anyway, Lucy has two. The first is Brad Holt who has only had one made outing all year. The second is Jenrry Mejia, who has not had a bad outing all season. Monday, Mejia went 6.2 IP, giving up only one earned run, and lowering his ERA to 1.97.
Holt and Mejia are considered the Mets top 2 pitching prospects…. After the guys mentioned above went belly up at upper levels.
Edgar Ramirez continues his 0.00 season ERA. His scoreless innings are now up to 19.1.

Gee hasn't gone Belly up yet Mac. For a young pitcher pitching hurt all year he actually hasnt done that bad....Lets see how he comes back from his injury first.
Yeah, I guess that was a little harsh...
I think Gee is a great control pitcher a la Glavine, and hopefully, his pitching problems were due to the injury.
As for getting to Queens, he would need to take the Parnell route... IMO.
