The Mets only had five hits in this game, one being a double by DH Giovanni Ortiz (.333). Ortiz, originally from Puerto Rico, had a great season last year (.350) for the GCL team, though it was only 40 at bats. I had hoped to see him on first base; however, this game, that went to Venezuelan Juan Torres (.300).
Catching sensation, Nefli Zapata (.400) hit his first home run of the season.
Thrid baseman (and converted from catcher) Charlie Hinojosa, went 2-3 and continues to rake (.400). Charlie's a California kid, who turned 20 in June and also played last year for GCL.
Laclan Hodge started the game and pitched well: 5.0-IP, 2-ER, 1-K, 2.70.
He was relieved by Tony Felix, who gave up five runs in two innings.
Marcos Tabata closed out the game with a scoreless inning and lowered his ERA to 1.42 (6.1 innings).
