Minor Rags: - More Dickey, Kirk Nieuwenhuis, Sean Ratliff... and Jenry Marte

Bisons:

When the Buffalo Bisons started spring training they received a short pep talk about what transpired last season. The talent on hand was proof that the team didn't have to be asphalt to another team's steamroller. After Friday night's 12-7 triumph over the Durham Bulls before an announced 9,129 at Coca-Cola Field, the Bisons are now 13-9, just one game out of first place in the International League North. "You could tell that the Mets wanted to put together a really good team chemistry-wise," said Bisons pitcher R.A. Dickey. "We have good players, good people, and it's really showing. Being the new team this year we wanted to come out and show everyone what we can do." - link

B-Mets:

Center fielder Kirk Nieuwenhuis took advantage of two Akron miscues to score the winning run in the top of 10th inning Friday night as the Binghamton Mets grabbed an 8-7 victory over the Aeros. Nieuwenhuis struck out swinging, but reached first on Vinnie Pestano's wild pitch on the third strike. One out later, he came around to score the deciding run on left fielder Nick Weglarz's fielding error. The B-Mets (12-9) won for the sixth time in nine games despite falling behind 6-1 in the first inning. - link

Lucy:

The Fort Myers Miracle rallied for three runs in the top of the ninth inning to beat the St. Lucie Mets 5-3 on Friday at Digital Domain Park. Jair Fernandez had a two-run double and Jonathan Goncalves added an RBI single for the Miracle in the inning. The Mets scored all their runs in the first. Sean Ratliff hit a two-run double for St. Lucie. The loss went to Jose Bierd (1-1). - link

Gnats:

Jefry Marte isn't apologizing. He got ahead in the count Friday night and drilled a fastball off the left-field wall for a two-run double. That hit keyed a four-run fourth inning and propelled the Savannah Sand Gnats to a 7-2 victory over the Lexington Legends before 2,389 fans at Grayson Stadium. It was the first pitch to Marte that caused a little commotion. A fastball, the Spanish-speaking Marte admitted through a translator, that looked pretty good, but umpire Jonathan Bailey called a ball. - link
