from press release:

The Cyclones pulled off an extra-inning victory on Sunday night, defeating the Tri-City Valley Cats by a score of 7-6 thanks to some tenth inning heroics by Will Cherry and Joe Bonfe. The win improves Brooklyn’s record to 20-10, three games ahead of the Staten Island Yankees for first place in the McNamara Division.

The Cyclones offense tallied seven runs on 12 hits on Sunday, including a game-winning tenth-inning RBI single by Cherry (pictured, by George Napolitano), who was 3-for-5 on the day with one run and three RBI. 3B Brian Harrison continued his hot streak, going 2-for-4 and registering two runs and a walk. RF Cory Vaughn also got on the board with two hits, while adding one RBI and one run. CF Darrell Ceciliani pinch hit in the eighth inning to single in two more runs and bring his average up to a league-leading .397. SS Rylan Sandoval went 2-for-5 with one run while Bonfe and DH James Shroeder checked in with one hit apiece.

LHP Mitch Houck tossed five scoreless innings before surrendering three runs in the bottom of the sixth. RHP Wes Wrenn came on in relief and pitched one third of an inning to preserve the Cyclones lead. RHP Adam Kolarek pitched the seventh and eighth innings, allowing two runs on three hits with three strikeouts. RHP Johan Figuereo blew the save in the ninth -- his second blown save in eight opportunities -- but picked up his second win when Brooklyn went ahed in the 10th.
