Drake Roberts:
7-26 from: - http://perfectgame.atinfopop.com/4/OpenTopic?q=Y&a=tpc&s=114295945&f=6174069131&m=3221081702&p=4 - Here are some names of draft eligibles for 2011 who have not been mentioned much and are definitely on the radar for 2011 MLB scouting depts. – Drake Roberts, Brenham HS, Washington TX, 5'9 plus 165, R/R, very strong for size and gets out there and plays 100%. Quick bat, runs well underway and solid enough arm to play SS, OF, in addition to 2b - still developing, will be seen in the spring.
Austin Hedges:
8-13-10 from: - http://www.prospectwire.com/pw/article.php?id=122 - Catcher Austin Hedges had one of the other hits and he is a standout player. I don't know that he will be more than an average hitter at the pro level and his power will likely fall short of average but he is a very good defensive catcher, with excellent catch/throw skills and a plus arm.
Johnny Eiserman:
8-11-10 from: - http://baseballanalysts.com/ - Johnny Eierman (Warsaw, MO) is another speedster who had the second-fastest time in the 60 at 6.41. The 6-foot-1 shortstop and quarterback is coming off a junior year in which he was an all-state selection in baseball and football. The LSU commit slugged three home runs during batting practice on Thursday but has struck out in five of his last six plate appearances after going 2-for-3 with a triple in the first game. While Eierman doesn't lack for load or bat speed, he may need to alter his swing plane in order to make more contact at the next level.
Nick Williams:
8-12-10: - http://www.prospectwire.com/pw/article.php?id=117 - Otherwise, the Rangers offense was quiet, though right-fielder Nick Williams (6'3" 190, L/L, 2012) from Galveston Ball HS-La Marque (TX) swung the bat well, with a line drive single to right and a hard line out to centerfield. He is very comfortable in the box and has an great idea of how to reach base and knows what he wants to hit.
Carson Baranik
8-12-10 from: - http://www.baseballamerica.com/today/high-school/events/under-armour-preseason-all-america-tournament/2010/2610524.html - RHP - Parkway HS, Bossier City, La. - Baranik is a big, strong righty with an impressive three-pitch mix. His fastballs sits comfortably in the low 90s with life and his curveball is a knee-buckler with tight rotation and good depth—a legitimate swing-and-miss pitch. He also shows feel for a changeup with good arm speed. He's committed to Louisiana State.
