Tyler Beede:
link - RHP, Lawrence Academy HS (Mass.) -- Beede's stuff was down some at the Area Code Games, but he still produced easy 90-91 velocity (touching 92 mph) with a loose arm and clean actions. His change-up flashes above-average with fade and dive, sitting in the 78-79 range and coming with solid arm speed. Beede's breaker is a mid-70s downer curve with solid shape. He can bury the pitch or use it as a freeze pitch after setting it up with the fastball. He could be a tough sign come next summer considering his strong commitment to Vanderbilt.
Adrian Houser:
8-12-10 from: - link - RHP - Locust Grove (Okla.) HS Houser is a solidly built, athletic righthander who commands three pitches and has advanced feel for his secondary stuff. A recent jump in velocity has him running his fastball up to 94 mph. His breaking ball is a big downer with tight rotation.
Willie Argo:
7-26 from: - link - Here are some names of draft eligibles for 2011 who have not been mentioned much and are definitely on the radar for 2011 MLB scouting depts. – Outfield - Willie Argo, Illinois, 6'1 200, R/R, from good HS program in the Quad Cities, has gotten a bit better each year and one of top base stealers in country this spring. Can chase them down in OF, throws good enough for CF, likeable too. Good upside.
Brandon Woodruff:
8-16-10 from: - link - Brandon Woodruff, RHP, Wheeler HS (Miss.) - Committed to Mississippi State, Woodruff is a strong athlete with a durable frame that showcased three above-average pitches at the event. With a drop and drive type-delivery, Woodruff worked at 90-92 with solid-average command and some good run on the pitch. His curveball is a sharp 11-5 breaker that ranged from anywhere from 74-80, and he complimented that with a very good feel for a straight change-up at 79-81. There was a little bit of effort in his delivery, as he picks his arm up with his elbow, but overall, nothing jumps out as worrisome.
Tyler Marlett:
8-18-10 from: - link - The catchers proved to be the stars on this day. Tyler Marlette (Oviedo, Fla.) started for the East All-Stars and crushed an 0-2 pitch off the second deck facade in left field in the fourth. Marlette also made a nice throw to nail local product Phillip Evans (Carlsbad, Calif.) at second in the first inning. (It looked like a bad call from my vantage, but the throw was strong). The one thing, other than his ability to hit the ball a long way, that stood out to me about Marlette is that he really crowded the plate.
