Day 2 reporting from Williamsport - Juan Nieves

In yesterday's notes I commented about how impressed I was with Darrell Cecilani and today I'm going to write about what was seen from SS Juan Nieves.

First off, he has very good hands. Some in the organization have told me they are Jose Reyes like. He has a quick release, but spends way too much time worrying about being flashy than fundamentally sound.

On the down side, his swing is way too long and frankly I'm surprised he is hitting .291 for the Cyclones. Before Rylan Sandoval was hurt you could see why he was not playing, but he is benefitting from his injury.

I'm not sure where he stands on Mack's prospect list, but I am not impressed. He needs less mustard on that hot dog and more concentration on shortening his swing. He is a slap hitter with virtually everything hit softly.

"The Keepers" list is 100 players and Nieve isn't currently on the list
