The problem here is that all these seats have already been sold, so who cares if they don't show up. The team still made the money.
One of the features here at Mack's Mets is 'CUTNPASTE', where I link to five stories/posts made by other Mets followers. To do this, I have to check out various locations every day and, thankfully, Blogger allows me to 'follow" a certain amount of them. All I have to do is go to my "dashboard" and scroll down the various blogs that post every day.. err... every other day... err... once a week... err...
Ya see, what is slowly happening is the Mets blogs are starting to dry up.
My brother and I grew up with a father that ended each day dead drunk in his easy chair. We would both come home and start yelling at him to quit drinking. After a while, when nothing changed, we stopped yelling. Later on even more, we simply stopped coming home.
The blogs I follow are drying up. "Caught Lookin" shut down... the last "Danny Baseball" post was six months ago... "Metsies and Other Musings" now posts once a month... "The Musings and Prophecies of Metstradamus" last post was four months ago...
Even "Be Gone With Wilpon" has been "be goned" since July (btw... do you think the Mets would ever offer a real job to someone that runs a blog with a name like this, or "Fire Jerry Manuel"?)
Yes, there seems to be a weeding out process beginning, not only with fans, but also those that express their feelings via a blog.
Eventually, like my brother and I, they will stop yelling.

I hear you. We've had only a few posts at Kiner's Korner all year for the same reason. How can you keep posting about the same issues again and again and not start to die a little inside?

How many times do you need to read the same report? All news I need I can get right from Metsblog. I'll only go to another site if Matt links to it, and Im sure majority of metsblog readers are the same.
Very interesting post. I've been reading around the blogs without leaving many comments. As you noticed I recently started commenting on your Blog though. I consider myself still getting started but I'm in it for the long term. This is why I chose not to limit myself to being a Mets-intense blog. I spend most of my time with the Mets but I don't feel limited. To combat my "A.D.D." I left myself room to roam. Reciprocation goes a long way also.
You are aware that the 7 train and the LIRR were both not running last night due to the major storm. Not really fair to use last nights game attendance.

Good post. My lack of interest has happened in stages: Did not renew my season tickets this year, stopped buying tickets to single games and finally I stopped posting to my blog (http://sectionsix.metsblog.com/). This team with its current ownership is not worth my time.
when the Mets are bad and football starts people tend to move on. Honestly some of us diehards just settle down for another subpar off season and remember the good ole days....Sorry cant remember them..lol...we always have a post or 2 for us diehards check us and when we have time we rehash about being a met fan in the 70's and 80's

I'm still here. neverforget69.metsblog.com - I try to offer a unique perspective and not rehash the stuff from the newspaper sites and other blogs. Hopefully I'm successful. Been following the Mets for 45 frustrating years. Well a few weren't.

Interesting... my father-in-law is a raging alcoholic and comes home to his easy chair (oh wait he's retired) so he's drunk all the time.
He's also a HUGE Mets fan.

HW- the mets blogs and comments I have read this year from fans have overall been awesome as perspective. There has been alot of baseball knowledge/understanding posted. One thing that drives me nuts is the so-called self-proclaimed prognosticators (like Toby Hyde) who think their evaluations based on stats alone are the gospel. Hyde continues to trash a great prospect like Dillon Gee with all he has accomplished, and then praises a guy like Cohoon in the low minors who can't break 87mph and makes the call that this guy will be in 2011 rotation.
I'm sure that some mets bloggers get tired of hearing some media prognosticator make his minor league analysis as if he were the gm. At the same time, spends most of his time praising the higher end prospects and overlooking or finding fault with the results produced by some lower round draft picks who have found a way to be successful.

Mack, you should check out Mets Gazette. They post everyday. I understand what you're saying though. The blogs all seem to grind to a halt.
