Yesterday, we took a look at some possible righties that
could be available in a mid-season trade.
Today… more righties:
Remember… AAA and AA players only.
Karson Milbrandt – Miami
Marlins – AAA
2026: AA:
9-ST, 4-1, 1.34, 1.00, 47-IP, 17-BB, 70-K
AAA:
7-G, 6-ST, 0-2, 5.67,
1.81, 27-IP, 24-BB, 25-K
Four-Seam
Fastball (primary pitch, sits ~94-96 mph, touches
98-99 mph): High-spin with impressive ride/carry, especially effective
elevated in the zone. Generates whiffs and
plays well up.
Slider/Gyro
Slider (heavily used secondary;
mid-to-upper 80s, often ~86-88 mph): Sharp two-plane break or gyro action. A
consistent swing-and-miss pitch with good command/chase. Frequently described
as "nasty" or dominant.
Sweeper
(added/developed more recently; mid-80s with more lateral depth): Bigger
breaking action than a typical slider. Has become a key weapon with high whiff
rates.
Curveball
(downer, low-80s, ~78-84 mph): Strong vertical depth (11-to-5 shape). Flashes
plus and pairs well for tunneling or burying.
Cutter
(upper-80s, e.g., ~87-89 mph): Filthy horizontal break, especially tough on
lefties (down-and-in). Has shown elite whiff rates in limited use.
Changeup
(developing/"kick change," lower usage; high-80s with fade/sink):
Added for depth against lefties. Improving but still the least consistent/used
pitch.
Elmer
RodrÃguez – New York Yankees – AAA
2026: AAA:
13-ST, 5-3, 2.85, 1.30, 66.1-IP, 34-BB, 67-K
MLB: 4-ST, 0-2, 4.76, 1.76, 17-IP, 11-BB,
10-K
Slider
— Top secondary offering; 82-85 mph (sometimes upper 80s) with sweep and depth.
Sinker
(two-seam fastball) — Strong movement (armside run/tail); often his best pitch for inducing weak contact and groundouts.
Splitter
/ Changeup — Upper-80s; generates chases and swings-and-misses.
Cutter
— Part of his expanded mix.
Curveball
— Upper-70s; complements the slider for shape variety.
Carlos Lagrange – New
York Yankees – AAA
2026: AAA - 18-G, 11-ST, 1-4, 4.55, 1.36, 63.1-IP, 33-BB, 83-K
Fastball
(primary pitch): Parks at 97-99 mph, peaks at 102-103
mph with carry and armside run. It's
a high-grade offering (often graded 70) that generates swing-and-miss and
sets up his other pitches.
Sweeper/Slider:
Sweeping mid-80s slider (around 82-85 mph) with significant horizontal break; a
key swing-and-miss pitch. He also throws a higher-velocity slider (upper 80s to
low 90s).
Cutter:
Upper-80s cutter that has shown strong effectiveness.
Changeup:
Low-90s offering with depth and fade; often more effective than the slider in
some seasons.
Sinker
(occasional): Used in small percentages for ground balls.
Christian Zazueta – Los
Angeles Dodgers – AA
2026: A+
11-G, 10-ST, 2-2, 3.88, 0.97, 48.2-IP,
12-BB, 66-K
AA: 4-ST, 0-0, 2.12, 0.76, 17-IP, 1-BB,
27-K
Fastball
(4-seam): His signature pitch. Sits 97-99 mph (peaks at 102-103 mph) with good carry and arm-side run. High-velocity heater that misses bats up in the
zone. Usage around 30-32% in some samples.
Slider/Sweeper:
Primary breaking ball. Sweeping mid-80s slider (82-85 mph) with significant
horizontal movement; can be plus. He also throws a harder slider/cutter variant
with shorter, late break. Strong whiff rates.
Cutter:
Upper-80s offering with short, late movement. Effective against both
handedness.
Changeup: Low-90s with depth and
fade. Has shown strong effectiveness at times, especially vs. lefties.
Sinker
(occasional): Low-usage pitch in some breakdowns.
Jaxon Wiggins – Chicago
Cubs – AAA
2026: A+
3-ST, 0-0, 2.45, 0.95, 7.1-IP, 2-BB,
7-K
AAA: 4-ST, 0-0, 9.00, 2.00, 13-IP, 13-BB, 17-K
Fastball
(4-seam): Primary pitch. Sits 96-98 mph (touches 99-101
mph). Excellent induced vertical break (IVB)
and carry; described as having "life," "ride," and
prototypical movement. Often graded 65-70. High whiff potential up in the zone.
Slider
(or hard slider/cutter variant): Key secondary pitch. Upper 80s (87-93 mph).
Originally a deeper sweeper; Cubs adjusted to a spiked grip for harder
"bullet" movement and better control/strike-throwing. Plus potential
(55-60 grade), high whiff rate.
Changeup:
Developing third pitch with fade/tumble. Upper 80s (around 89 mph). Solid feel,
especially against lefties; helps his starter profile.
Curveball:
Less frequently used "downer" or 12-6 offering. Upper 70s to low 80s.
Flashes depth but lags behind the others.
Braylon
Doughty – Cleveland Guardians – AA
2026: A+
14-ST, 3-3, 3.02, 1.17, 59.2-IP,
11-BB, 74-K
AA: 4-ST, 1-1, 5.00, 1.50, 18-IP, 5-BB, 22-K
Four-Seam Fastball (92-95 mph, up to 97-98): Primary pitch with good spin (~2400-2500+ RPM) and riding life. It has improved
shape and velo as he's added strength. He commands it well up in the zone for
strikes and swing-miss. He also mixes a two-seam/sinker (especially vs. RHH)
for ground balls and weak contact on the inner/outer thirds.
Curveball (82-85 mph): One of the best in the
minors—plus to double-plus. High spin (often 3000+
RPM), with depth + horizontal sweep (over a foot of movement). It tunnels well
with the fastball, generates whiffs/chases, and can be used for strikes or
putaways to either handedness (e.g., backdoor to LHH).
Slider (87-90 mph): Another high-spin (3000+ RPM potential) plus breaker. More of a
power/bullet slider with depth and glove-side action. He has worked on
separating it from his curve and cutter for better whiff rates (recently ~35%+
in stretches). Primarily used vs. RHH.
Cutter (88-92 mph): Flatter with vertical action;
used more vs. LHH. Helps him work inside and create separation from the slider.
(Some reports note he has de-emphasized or adjusted certain fastball variants
like the cutter over time.)
Changeup (84-87 mph): Firm but promising fourth
pitch with fade and good arm-side replication of the fastball. Used mostly vs.
LHH; it can generate high whiff rates when located well but needs consistency
(occasionally hangs or gets buried).
Nolan Perry – Toronto
Blue Jays - AA
2026: A: 5-G,
4-ST, 1.71, 0.67,
21-IP, 6-BB, 32-K
A+ 7-ST, 3-3, 3.23, 1.24,
30.2-IP, 11-BB, 46-K
AA: 2-ST, 0-0, 0.00, 1.15,
4.1-IP, 2-BB, 7-K
Four-Seam
Fastball (primary pitch, ~40% usage): Sits 93-95 mph, touches 96+ mph.
Features high spin (high-2500s RPM), strong induced vertical break (around 18+
inches), arm-side run, and a favorable vertical approach angle. It generates
elite whiff rates for a fastball (up to 40% in samples) and plays well up in
the zone.
Slider
(secondary, ~25-30% usage): 82-87 mph (often 84-87). Tight, gyro/ short breaker
with good horizontal movement. Primary pitch for missing bats against righties;
high whiff rates (often 50%+).
Curveball:
78-81 mph (or 75-80 earlier). Big 1-7/12-6 shape with two-plane break and steep
drop. Effective against lefties; high whiff rates when thrown for strikes or as
a chase pitch, though it can be harder to land for strikes.
Splitter
(or Changeup/Splitter hybrid): Mid-80s (84-86+ mph). Developed/improved
post-injury as a better weapon vs. lefties than prior changeup. Good vertical
drop/separation; still inconsistent but shows promise as an off-speed option.
Other (occasional): Sinker (similar velo/shape to four-seamer in some
readings) and rare cutter or changeup elements. He has shown a deep, 5-6 pitch
mix in some outings.
