I May Be Wrong, But… Minor League Signings, Aaron Heilman
·
This gaggle of minor league
signings seems to happen this time every year. All if does is completely screw
up my organizational chart.
As of Tuesday’s
signings, here’s who I have on the Buffalo roster:
SPs (10) - Jeurys Famila, Collin McHugh, Chris Schwinden, Miquel
Batista, Pedro Beato, Dylan Owen, Tobi Stoner,
Jeremy Hefner, Mark Cohoon, Garrett Olson
RPs (14) - Robert Carson, Josh Stinson, Elvin Ramirez, Roy
Merritt, Fernando Cabrera, Jeff Stevens, Chuck James, Erik Turgeon, Eric
Beaulac, Eric Niesen, Jack Egbert, Daniel Herrera
1B (3) - Alan Dykstra, Eric Campbell , Val Pascucci
2B (2) - Reese Havens, Cory Wimberly
SS (4) - Omar
Quintanila, Matt Bouchard, Jordany Valdespin, Sean
Kazmar
3B (2) - Zach Lutz, Michael Fisher
C (3) - Kai Gronauer, Jean
Luc Blaquiere, Lucas May
OF (6) - Kirk Nieuwenhuis, Mike Baxter, Juan Lagares, Raul Reyes, Vinnie Rottino, Adam Loewen
That’s 42 players on a
25-man squad, and don’t think of pushing some of these guys back to Binghamton.
Their roster is under water also.
But, don’t panic.
I marked the guys who
are definitely playing in 2012 in red. There’s
only nine of them and one (Beato) may remain in Queens.
Other than Beato, only
Schwinden, Baxter, Rottino, and Batista have any chance of winning a Queens
roster spot, out of camp, so a lot of these guys have to either be released or
come down with mass malaria.

So… let me see if I got this
right… the Mets traded Aaron Heilman to the Seattle Mariners… who then
traded Aaron to the Cubs for Ronny Cedeno and
Garrett Olson… who now have both signed with
the Mets… and Heilman signed this week with… the Mariners.
I love this game.
