#2-#4 selections- Marlins, White Sox, Cubs- Kolek, Rodon, Schwarber

Kolek goes 1:2 to the Miami Marlins
#2- Tyler Kolek- Texas HS RHP

I had Rodon here. This should push Rodon to the White Sox, who are THRILLED to get him. Then the wildcard pick at #4 with the Cubs. Marlins are stockpiling pitching but I'm curious as to why Rodon, a lefty of Cuban descent, who would be quicker to the bigs, is more polished, and less of a risk, was passed over.

#3- Carlos Rodon- LHP- NC State

White Sox would be crazy to pass Rodon, who have always wanted a college pitcher and was loving Hoffman before the injury. Expected, and helps the White Sox immensely. Chicago is very happy the Marlins went with Kolek. Don't expect Rodon to pull an Appel, either (and by that, I mean, forgoing signing to pitch his senior year or struggle his first season in the bigs as Appel is now. Rodon is the real deal).

#4- Kyle Schwarber- C- Indiana

Well, we said this would be the interesting pick early in the draft and Schwarber certainly is a reach. However, the Cubs get a very good looking catcher and should be able to sign him for well under slot and use that money in one of their many picks later. They get a catcher of the future to work with an impressive infield that should include Bryant, Castro, Baez, and Rizzo. Man that is scary.

The next few off the board should include Gordon, Nola, and probably Freeland.
