Wily Peralta scattered 4 hits in 6 innings and Jonathon
Lucroy went 3 for 5 with an RBI, the Brewers
beat the Mets Wednesday night at Citi field
3-1. The Mets took a 1-0 in the 2nd inning on a sac-fly by
Lucas Duda, but the Brewers scored single runs in the top of the 3rd,
4th and 5th off Jacob deGrom and never looked back. Lucroy, Juan Segura and Chris Gomez each drove
in runs. deGrom started for the Mets and
lasted 5 2/3 allowing a career high 9
hits 3 runs (all earned) he walked 1 and struck out 4. He takes the loss
falling to 0-3. Peralta gets the win improving to 6-5, as the Mets offense only
managed 5 hits on the night and was shut down from the 4th inning
on. Former Mets Francisco Rodriguez came on in the ninth and got the Mets 1-2-3
to notch his 20th save. Josh
Edgin, Carlos Torres, Dana Eveland and Vic Black all made scoreless appearances
out of the pen. Mets manager Terry
Collins was ejected arguing a lost challenge. The series is now tied at a game
apiece. The Mets fall to 29-36 on the year and 14-18 at home and have lost 7 of
8. Thursday the Mets look to take the series.
Jonathon Niese (3-3 2.68) goes for the Mets, Kyle Lohse (7-2 3.27) goes for Milwaukee.
