Akeel is utterly amazing. 32 innings, 50 K's 12 hits. This year and last combined, 80 innings, 110 K,s 41 hits, 6 earned runs. By comparison, Matz, who deserves being highly touted, pitched well in Savannah last year (I know, as a starter), but nothing like this.

Go to Japan (land of high speed trains), buy some fast tracks, and get this kid moving ASAP. I wonder if this kid can be pitching for Mets a year from today...several levels to climb but he is utterly outclassing mid-A ball.

Mazzilli continues to super-impress. 154 plate appearances since May 1, in Savannah where legend has it no one can hit with power....and all he has done is .360/.440/.560. Wow. Promotions of LJ and McNeil must be extremely imminent.
