- 1B David Cooper was signed to a Minor League contract. He is active with Binghamton (AA)

Hey Mack am I the only noticing someb irony here?
The past week or so the Mets have quitely been demoting a handful of prospects throughout their system due to lack of performance, but the parent club just keeps chugging along with guys like kirk and mayberry.
I was going to say, Ernest,how poorly Gil Gomez was doing, but Kirk has done just as poorly. Good point.
The Mets have obviously decided to add a few AAAA players (Conrad in Vegas, Cooper in Binghamton) to just plug a few holes created from the lack of development of guys within the sytem.
It's also still a little early to be promoting players to the next level. Minor league teams want their 'stars' to hang around at least through the all-star game
